The K.O.G.

Everyone is looking for answers. More than ever the world is crying out for a leader. People want good news and they’re discouraged with all the bad. “Doesn’t God care?” the world asks. Well little Timmy, yes, God does care. He cared so much He sent His only begotten Son preaching the answer.

Jesus’ shout sounded something like this: “Listen everyone, I’ve got good news! Turn away from being dependent on this world’s system and turn around to God’s system! It’s called the Kingdom of God or KOG for short. It’s good news for the poor, for the sick, the downhearted and for all of you in captivity.” Of course I’m helping you get a handle on the vernacular.

If you’ve done anytime in Sunday school then you’ve heard about the Kingdom of God. I don’t know what understanding you have of it, but the amplified Bible helps give us some insight. The Kingdom of God is not a huge castle with a whole bunch of stained glass windows. It’s not a glowing cloud with a surplus of tuned harps waiting for qualifying saints. The Kingdom of God is God’s way of doing things and being right. Simply put, it’s God’s government. A government is not the buildings but the guidelines, laws and wisdom that determine its function.

Matthew 6:33 says, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.” That’s Jesus talking so it’s in red. Wow! When you study that in context you realize that God knows not only what we need but also what we desire, and He cares! He knows this world’s system is broken and so in His love and mercy, He has given us the ultimate system. His! And His trumps all others. (No pun intended … well maybe just a little)

If we have the answer, the KOG, why do so many of us (believers, Christians) seem to be on the outside looking in? Could it be that we have forgotten what Jesus preached? He did not say, “Seek first the love of God.” Hmmmm. Is that offensive to some of you?

“God is love”, says 1 John 4:16. Then 1 John 5:3 says, “The true love of God is this: that we do His commands (keep His ordinances, precepts, teaching).” The love of God is in the Word of God. They’re inseparable and never do they contradict each other.

I believe the Answer is the KOG and when you need help, that answer can be the greatest expression of love. I’ve seen very wealthy people who could not find an answer to their physical diagnoses. The world’s system was failing them and they needed another answer, but their faith was so trained to trust in worldly solutions, God’s government was foolishness to them.

Let’s hear about what system you favor and how that’s working for you. Tell us what you operate in for your business, your marriage, school, and your needs and of course, we want to know on what foundation you’re building your dreams. Come on tell us.
